The Long Barn is a lovely place in a beautiful part of the country. It is quiet and comfortable and made a great base for exploring the Atlantic Way. Watching the chickens roaming around the garden also provided great entertainment.
There are good pubs with nice food in Union Hall about 10-15 minutes drive away. Same in Glandore and Castletownsend, which are also within reasonable driving distance.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts Richard and Jo. The Long Barn is warm and cosy. – thanks to the stove and plentiful supply of wood (first basket is free). Our children enjoyed the beautiful roaming garden, the hens, the trampoline, the swing and the treehouse and especially Cocoa the dog who is gorgeous.
It was a very peaceful and relaxing couple of days in Jo’s listing, which was exactly what I wanted. Located well away from the beaten path, it was quaint, clean and comfortable.
The barn is well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, good heating and decent WiFi. Mobile phone signal is patchy, but I preferred being unreachable to be honest. This is somewhere you go to switch off, plug out and and talk to each other.
Richard and Jo were friendly and easy-going and happy to provide advice when needed. I would certainly return again.
